Our Story
Having struggled for years with keeping wigs and headgear on properly, due to having super slippery and sleek hair, and as a special educator by profession accustomed to seeking out-of-the-box solutions, I decided to apply my natural creativity and problem-solving skills to create innovative wig support products that truly and finally effectively solve the common issues that I, along with many of you, have personally experienced. My first challenge to solve was how to improve on the wig grip to enable it to grip really well onto your head and yet remove very gently. This feature is crucial as we have all experienced our wig grips slipping back, defeating the entire purpose of wearing one for more security. Once I came up with a prototype and began testing it on my friends, family and community, its effectiveness and popularity just organically grew. The demand for my special grips kept increasing and word spread fast. As a result of this very organic evolution, which also includes 24 years of wig-wearing and general head-covering experience, and through much trial and error and large scale testing over time, WIG GURU was born.
Another common issue in the wig grip industry that I wanted to tackle, is the lack of consistency in quality, variation and accessibility. I envisioned a streamlined process where a broad variety of models for every need, all crafted with the same high quality materials and thoughtful design, is accessible all in one place to you, our customer. In this way, the process of finding what you need and peace of mind that comes with having the same customer support for all models and types, fulfills our mission of offering you truly effective support. Additionally, the design of our products, such as our grips, is and always will be based on our latest research and feedback from you, our valued customers, in this truly amazing, wig wearing community.
Our ultimate mission is to support all of the beautiful, brave and unique women who are on this wig-wearing/head-covering journey for any and all reasons, ranging from hair loss to religious to just plain beauty. There's nothing more satisfying than hitting the nail on the head, and my goal is to change the game with each product. My products are constantly evolving in my pursuit towards better solutions. Everyone has a story and life is already naturally full of challenges, if our products can make wig-wearing more accessible and enjoyable, we will have accomplished our goal.
